JVC is giving UAE technology buffs the chance to meet J4 – a football-loving humanoid robot, in a bid to woo customers with its latest offering of entertainment products.

The firm's ‘JVC Digivision 2005' showcase features its new line-up of Everio G digital camcorders and the HD-ILA television series, which includes the 56-inch HD 756RX5 and the 70-inch HD 770RX5. Also on display are the firm's latest range of wood cone speakers, audio systems, portable audio players and DVD players.

The firm is inviting the general public from the 9th of November to the 11th to the Intercontinental Hotel located in Deira, Dubai. The first two shows will be held today and tomorrow from 5pm until 10pm, while the third will be open from 10am until 10pm on Friday.

According to JVC, all three shows will feature its J4 20cm humanoid robot flaunting its Ronaldo-like football skills. JVC believes robots will play a big part in people's lives in the future, which is why it has decided to include the robot in the show.
