Actually, I read this interesting article where this scientists said homosexuality may be a combination of genes. It is not something directly passed down, obviously, because gay people usually don't have kids and because straight parents are usually the ones giving birth to gay children. Like, if one parent has a certain gene, their children would be born with sickle-cell. But if both parents have it, the child is born with an immunity to malaria. Clearly, if you were to be a Darwinist about it, there must be some benefit to the gene that carries homosexuality. We just don't know it yet. I wish I could find the exact study I read that mentioned this.
