A LEADING naval historian and the author of numerous bestselling naval histories, Dr Tom Frame, will speak in Bega next month as a guest of the Friends of the Libraries.

The book explores Mr Holt's 22 months' prime ministership and examines the theories and rumours that still circulate regarding his disappearance in 1967.

Bega Valley library manager, Ms Janice Biggin, said the Friends of the Libraries had secured Dr Frame as guest speaker at a dinner on Friday, November 25, at the Bega RSL Club.

He also worked at the Australian War Memorial and the Australian National Maritime Museum and has held numerous positions in the church and as a lecturer in theology.

He is the author of 'Where Fate Calls: The HMAS Voyager Tragedy', on which the ABC's documentary 'The Cruel Legacy' was based, and more recently 'The Life and Death of Harold Holt'.

The RSL Club has been chosen as the venue by the Friends of the Libraries in the hope that RSL members, people with an interest in Australian history, politics and unsolved mysteries, and those interested in supporting the libraries will go along to hear this outstanding Australian writer and historian.
