Son, Chandler Thomas, at 5 pounds, 10 ounces, was born at 5:59 p.m. Son, Dane Ross, at 5 pounds, 12 ounces, was born at 6 p.m. The Benner babies are most certainly a record, for while sets of triplets have been born in the area, no quadruplet births have ever been noted for residents of White County. Their combined weight, at almost 24 pounds of babies, might even tip the scales for a Guinness World Record.

The four newborns are in the hospital's neonatal unit and will be watched closely for a few days. All of the babies will have to breathe on their own – which they are all doing, drink from a bottle – which they are all doing, and after they take the light off of them, be able to hold their body temperatures up.

For Jeremy and Denise Benner, their children are a dream come true. They lost two pregnancies – single births – and also lost a set of premature twins in 2004, so prayers from family and friends seemed to help Denise cope with the quadruplet pregnancy – even flourish.

Denise's mother Sharon Allen has kept family and friends up to date on the couple's journey by providing e-mails of progress with the multiple pregnancy.

When Denise and the four babies are released from the hospital, Jeremy, who works at Howard and Sons, and Denise, who works at State Farm Insurance, will fit the quadruplets into their three-bedroom home, and the babies will share rooms, according to Denise.
