An estimated 40 percent of the total mobile phones handsets in India have slots for external storage. With low-priced phones with good quality digital cameras, decreasing laptop and digital camera costs, the need for external storage or memory cards is set to increase."
The new memory cards will be available through the company's dedicated dealer and distribution network in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Ambala, Jaipur, Lucknow, Raipur, Patna, Guwahati, Pune and Pondicherry.
MCC's range of high storage capacity and shock-proof NAND flash memory cards are empowered by the Single Level Cell (SLC) technology, which enables video streaming and internet facility in handheld gadgets such as 3G mobile phones, PDAs, digital still and video cameras, MP3 players and PCs. These flash memory cards are available in 30X and 45X speeds and are priced at Rs 1,500 for a 128 MB card, Rs 2,700 for a 256 MB card, Rs 4,500 for a 512 MB card and Rs 6,500 for a 1GB card.
The new flash memory cards are available in different formats with each catering to the specific needs of an end-user and compatible with a niche range of products and product categories. The new flash memory cards comprise compact flash cards (128MB-1GB) for laptops and digital cameras; secure digital (128MB-1GB) for laptops, digital cameras and video cameras; multimedia cards (128MB-1GB) for digital cameras, video cameras and mobile phones; and reduced size multimedia cards (128MB-512MB) - dual voltage 80X high-speed card for mobile phones.
